sunrisemy page of misc personal stuff

(also known as the 'what-is-the-spiritual-meaning-of-the-gas-can-being-on-mars' page)

Once upon a time long long ago this page contained a collection of frequently asked questions which I ask myself from time to time. After doing this for about 25 years now, it might offer an awesome view into my mind. Maybe there are also some links to media stuff and more realted personal or other webpages. If you think the words are difficult to read, consider them as the wind in the trees of a big forrest (shhh). Top secret. Maybe you'll have to turn the text display of your browser slightly bigger. Hey, are you allready bent up? Yeah, the answer is somewhere below.
ps: this is also the Zak McKracken page of the alien mindbenders

Why is that drowning sun-thing checked red and white?

It actually isn't drowning. It's just floating on the waters, thy waters of mercy. Red means strenght, and white means unity. All together it is nothing more than the so called 'Amiga-Ball' with a naive green shine (germans would say: 'die Sache hatte einen Haken'). 'Amiga' is the name of a series of home computers at the end of the last millennium. They were perfect and the best of their kind as they could be in these years. I was very into them and knowed their hard- and software better than my own. The picture symbolizes a lost kingdom. On this page there are some saved artifacts from that kingdom.

Mod music I made on Amiga

From 1993 till today I tried to use the 'Tracker' called music editors on Amiga to make some sound ideas real. In most cases here I think I didn't reach my goal (if there was any defined goal at all), however most results sound quite nice to me. Some tunes represent parts and themes of my life, others I made just for fun. Some aren't really ready yet.

downloadable .mod - type music (maybe you'll have to change the filenames for PC/Windows purposes)

- maybe I'll decide to upload more of them soon, there is many weird stuff an I have to choose -

To play this .mod - type music you might need to download and install WinAMP, if your maybe allready existing (favourite?) media player doesn't do the trick. It's pretty easy to do, even if you feel too stupid. I really would be happy if you do listen to this music.

Tools I programmed on Amiga

My first great experience with the 'professional' part of computer usage happened when I was about 12 years of age. The 'Emerld Mine' disk crashed to a shell-prompt and  - wow - typed 'list'. I expected to see the program listing as known from good old C64. But what was that? Files? Subroutines? A list of entrys like 'song.o', 'lead.sh', 'levels' and others. I shouted "Wow, I've done it! I hacked the game! Now I can do everything I want!!!"

This time I calmed down fast. It wasn't that big step, just the first. During the following months and years I learned Amiga-BASIC by trial and error (the first introduction to some few major magic words like 'PRINT' and 'INPUT' was done to me by my father), then somehow I stumbled over a realtime dissasembler and started to learn assembler while overwriting some bsr with nop to pass password questions and copy protections. Soon there appeared a disk with intro sources in my drive and with these examples I learned to code some funny effects. Also some books about the Amiga hardware and operating system began to interest and help me. Every month I bought the german 'Amiga Magazin' from M&T.

Intros and demos were nice to watch for me, but my coding interests fixated around data reduction algorhytms, grafical userinterfaces, data identification and processing (mainly coding of rippers).and sound replays (for DeliTracker).

There is some other stuff also, for example an unfinished custom GUI system with resizeable window contents. Besides, maybe the best of all is a little object orientaded scripting and configuartion language which I called SCOPE. I introduce it within Amiga Filterium, see above.

My favourite movies and series I like to watch

Once I realized that there are NEITHER little people in the television NOR behind the cinema screen, these magic weapons became even more interesting to me. Here is a list of what I like or liked to watch most.

- movies like Total Recall, Captain Nemo, Logans Run, Truman Show, Planet of the Apes
- movies from and with Charly Chaplin
- Mac Gyver
- Star Trek (all)
- Simpsons
- the 'Mission Impossible' series (german 'Kobra, übernehmen Sie')

Yes, of course there is much more we can talk about. I liked to watch the 'Hammer Films' also. And then there I remember a film called 'Time Bandits'. I don't know if that is from the Monty Pythons crew, whose films I like also (surely, how could I forget to put them on top?). Last but not least I feel like it's important to mention Alice in Wonderland here.

Am I a trekkie or not and what is the meaning of beeing a trekkie?

I don't know. Probably not. I can't speak the klingon or ferrengie language and I don't visit Star Trek conventions. But I really like this series (more than the Star Trek movies). I like all versions, the old 'Kirk & Spock' ones, also the Next Generation with Commander Data, Deep Space Nine with Odo and Quark and Voyager with the Doctor and Neelix. I like the other characters also. Once I was at a so called Star Trek Dinner to meet so called real Trekkies. They seemed to have in common to worry much about things that happen behind the known things. Not what I like, I thought and didn't go there again.

What I like about the newer Star Trek series is the many highly philosophical and psychological stuff they seem to contain. I compared the enterprise to Jungian psychology. If I match the enterprise to a beeing (me), to me the captains seat appears as the self (sun, myself) and the mainscreen appears as the ego (moon, I). And all characters represent sub-personalities of more or less archetypical kind.

The best Star Trek parody and comics in the web I know: Sev Trek. Looks a little bit like Simpsons. And all serious about Star Trek in german could be found via the DSi Deutscher StarTrek-Index, I think.

Tribute to Amiga Graphic Adventure Games

This is the type of computergames I like most. All these have got in common that you watch something like an interactive movie and can click objects and handle them all with the mouse without typing words. You can move characters around and let them talk. If you know Mac Gyver (the guy who can make everything aut of everything) then you have a good impression how these Adventures are like. It's up to you to let the story continue, to discover secrets and to save the world. Most of them contain also a big portion of typical adventuregame-humour. Here I'll introduce to you the ones I had the biggest fun with. Er, you can visit Adventureland for more infos or "ask *me* about LOOM" and the others. Here is a list of topics.

- Zak McKracken
- Flight of the Amazon Queen
- Beneath a Steel Sky
- Loom
- Simon the Sorcerer
- Lure of the Temptress
- Monkey Island 1 & 2
- Indiana Jones 'last Crusade'
- Indiana Jones 'Atlantis'
- Maniac Mansion

The 'Zak McKracken' Mystery

Do you know that game? To understand these lines entirely you maybe should. It was my first real Adventuregame experience in 1992. I played it for years and was very very happy as I've solved it without any helps and cheats. I played it some more times and wondered why I'd become so fascinated about it. When I was older I learned about world mysticism and discovered, Zak McKracken covers much of them. It starts with leaving the body in the first scene (see Out of Body Experiences below). With Zak we can also learn for example that we have a personal climatic conditioner in our heads to set our mood (behind the left door in the face on mars, following the violet path). The last scene where Zak and Annie activate 'the device' symbolizes the alchemical marrieage. And there is much more in the game linked to real ancient wisdom (by symbol, color, scene, theme or function), it's not just a funny game. If you would like it is deeply philosophical and can do a big change of personality (as it did to me). Now - for insiders -, why is that gas-can on mars? It actually is missing in an other game (for a chainsaw in 'Maniac Mansion') and at the early developement steps 'Zak McKracken' was planned as a sequel to that. There were also plans to join both games together in a third game.

David Fox wrote on 10th July 2004:

"Actually, there were never any plans to have Zak as a sequel.  It existed in a totally different universe. And there was never any plans to join both games in the future.  But, keeping to Lucasfilm Games tradition, we had lots of in-jokes scattered throughout Zak (as we did with Maniac, and our later games).  Since people kept complaining in Maniac that they could never find the gas for the chainsaw, I added that into Zak purely as a joke.  Same for the answering machine message from Ed, and the reference to Edna making crank phone calls to the phone company...

Anyway, I like your page!!"

The gas-can symbolizes power, mars symbolizes the house of power.

Here is some art stuff I've done from the graphics of this game:

three principles two realms
the device

The first one I found in the mars labyrinth, when searching the upper walls with the flashlight. The three skulls are ape, human and scolarian. They seem to correspond to the three gates in the great mars chamber, which again seem to correspond to three-principle-models like three souls, three alchemical principles, trinity, three main triangles on the tree of life and similar. The first gate again allows access to three placces through a labyrinth (where the pic is taken from): an airconditioner-room (the vegetative; the four greek elements could be adjusted by two sliders for temperature and atmosphere), a teleporter room (you arrive there when 'astral-projecting' symbolically to mars with the yellow crystal) and a world-map-room (origin for the map seen in the dream, strange markings below allow access to the sphinx). Well, the next picture combines the mouth of the face-on-mars like seen in the dream with the final drawing of the complete 'astral-projection-map'. While the world-map is for the world (wake state), the symbols are for mars (dream state). The third picture shows the worldsaving so called scolarian 'device'. Actually it seems to be a simplified 'tree of life' and also a phallic symbol. The light goes through the hole in the ceiling to surround the earth. When activated by Zak and Annie, Zak allways walks to the right side and Annie to the left. The blue and the yellow crystal can be used separately to project into annother form of beeing or to project to annother place. To perform this, guidance from a guru and a shaman are neccessary. And the actual name of both is David Fox, the man that created Zak McKracken when working for George Lucas. I'm sure the force is with him. Thank you,.David!!!

Related links: if you haven't played Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders yet, I suggest you to search the web for an Amiga games related page. Although there are also versions for PC and C64, I highly recommend you to use the Amiga version (best graphics and sound). On a Windows-PC you'll need this WinUAE Amiga-Emulator to do.
Also visit the Zak McKracken 2 project for a sequel made by fans.

Lucid Dreaming (LD) and Out of Body Experiences (OBE, OOBE, AKE)

This means to know in a Dream that I'm dreaming and can remember things from awake state. Sometimes when it comes to this lucid dream state for me it looks and feel like I leave my sleeping body. I trained myself to experience this and it worked. Also some wonderful things happened in reality known as 'synchronizities' when I experienced this. That means that alldays reality seemed to reflect my inner changes and work without notable causal linkage. Actually I learn more about this. Also I can fly and do many other magic things in these dreams or states of consciousness. Thats all a big portion of fun and I enjoy it very much, but the real goal within this abilities is to come consciously in contact with my inner subconscious realms and to do some magic changes there. The broom is for cleanig up, not to carry water (we can also learn this in Zak McKracken ... where the broom is alife as known from Goethe ... so we must say that the broom is for cleaning up while it is sleeping and if it is awake it wants to go on his own yourneys instead of beeing bound to carry water).

- will be updated with my more detailed take on these topics -

Mystical stuff to Cabala and else like that

Er, consider this cabalistic hardcore. I have no idea what to write here right now. When reading about Cabala, the 'tree of life' became my favourite mind-map. I like the commandments of the bible matched to the sephirot (my work page on that topic, yet german only). A mind-map could be a map of the mind and also a visual map of informations that you can imagine in front of your 'inner eye' an that can help you storing, sorting and finding other informations in your mind. Cabala is a big bunch of informations on many topics that are linked together by philosophical principles. Cabala could make you believing that blue spheres appear where the best alternative for smoking awaits you. Got it? Guess no. Ok, Cabala makes you believing that venus is green and the best alternative for thinking to much. :-)

Makes you believing.

You might want to read my new and first pretty german illustrated letter relating to the IX Tarot card 'Hermit' (Einsiedler, Weiser) here.

Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP)

God = Richard BandlerWhen I was born there was an informatics and psychology student called Richard Bandler (pic) who watched worlds best psychotherapists and genies very carefully to find out why they are so very good in what they do. He did not ask them much about their opinions or what they have learned. I think he just copied their style to breath, move and talk, same way like we all do in our first years of life. The result was, he discovered the communication structures of change, hypnosis and much more about what goes on in our minds, how we do thinking and which minimal differences make the difference between beeing stupid or a fool (hint hint). Now that guy himself maybe is THE ultimative shrink. He wrote many books about his work and his methods are teached worldwide. Followers of his new psychologic school of 'Neurolinguistic Programming' also wrote many books. Somehow I started to read some of these and took part at a little NLP seminar. That all was really enlightening for me. I like NLP as one of the major general brain-usage-tutorials. For me Bandler is the next real milestone after C.G.Jung in western psychology. I learn more and understand better with this and now also can perform some changes to myself or maybe to you, where you or other people might say it's impossible. That does not mean that without or before this we couldn't do that. The point is, now I'm more conscious about what is going on. About metaphors, the power of speech and words (as sait in the bible) and now I think I know much more of the the big 'why's. I can be on a higher tree.

Here are links to german NLP sites in the web: www.nlp.de (general information, forums, contacts, links), www.nlp.at (I expect some details still to be here). Very up to date infos and books: www.junfermann.de

I would like to try out some more of the examples from these books. A german joke I created on that: "das Versuchskaninchen war ein Angsthase".

Why is the emerald table of contents black and not green as it is supposed to be?

It is a state of art example for the the effects of black-painting. That means, it actually _is_ green, but someone thought it might match better to the background color of the sphere socle image (that means it might look more realistic this way). Anyway the idea of making the table of contents into an emerald table of contents is newer than the idea of a table of contents. An even deeper meaning of this is, that pessimism is the result when people try to be too realistic _and_ that - for very inside insiders - ancient wisdom might be nothing special at all. It's just there same as you and me are.

Originally the so called 'emerald table' is part of some ancient magical-alchemical formulas. The one I like most is (lat.) "VITRIOL = Visita Interiora Terrae Rectificando Invenies Occultum Lapidem!". That means something like "You better be inside!" (condom?). If you like myths, imagine the earth beeing hollow with a little sun floating in the middle and  two-headed squirrels, fancy snakes and little Indiana Jones living all around there.

ps: the blue spheres on the golden socles are originally from the great chamber in the face on mars ... they are used to open doors to altered states of consciousness by producing matching good vibes.

I wish me and you all the very best forever, take care and...

...be blessed!
